Why I Am Not A Carpenter

There is now a shed somewhere in Waco which has been built entirely by law students. I wouldn't vouch for its structural integrity.

Habitat for Humanity was a good time. We had a good turnout and no one suffered any major injuries, which is always a concern when I am in the vicinity of a circular saw. And then they gave us a lot of food. Their definition of "there might not be enough" is rather loose.

That is awesome.

As you were.

Jimmy Carter esque. Great intentions that may or may not have disastorous results. It sounds like an Orioles fan to me.

It is not Oriole-esque because Peter Angelos doesn't have good intentions.

Things I wouldn't want to hear if it were my place:

"Don't worry if that doesn't line up. We can just caulk it."

"Wow. That really is crooked."

"This would be easier with a sledgehammer."

So what was bringing in Mazzone? Bad intentions?

Brining in Mazzone was an attempt to improve the pitching staff without actually paying money for, ya know, good pitchers. Signing Mazzone doesn't mean that Kris Benson was suddenly going to become Cy Young.

If Angelos spent half as much time trying to build a winner as he does trying to squeeze every last nickel out of the DC market, the O's might have had a winning season sometime in the last decade.

Though the continued lack of progression of Daniel Cabrera is frustrating as hell.
